Lantern House opened in Tofino in 2021 with a wood-fire pit, a row of red lanterns above the open kitchen, and the conviction that Cantonese cooking deserved long, unhurried evenings on the coast.
Chef Wei sources duck from a small farm on Vancouver Island, salt-and-pepper tofu is fried to order, and the clay-pot rice has a crust you will remember on the walk back along Cox Bay.
